VPK Group release new Sustainability Report 2024

VPK Group have released its new Sustainability Report 2024. A significant step forward in how we share our progress and ambitions. And this edition is a special one.

“For the first time, we report largely in line with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This brings greater transparency and structure to our sustainability journey. In additon, our figures under ESRS E1 (Climate) and E3 (Water) have been externally verified, reinforcing the credibility of our data and our commitment to full compliance by 2028,” said the company.

Key highlights from the 2024 report:

  • Renewable energy: 37% of energy now comes from renewable sources — on track to reach 50% by 2030.
  • CO₂ reduction: they’ve achieved a clear decrease in carbon intensity across all sites.
  • Raw materials: 98% of the materials are renewable. Paper production is 100% based on recycled fibres and FSC®-certified.
  • Packaging: the share of recycled fibres in the packaging increased from 87% in 2022 to 90% in 2024.
  • Water management: efficiency measures led to a 15% reduction in water withdrawal at their paper mills, moving them closer to the target of 6 m³ per ton of paper produced.
