EcoFishBox by Stora Enso has won the 2017 Quality Innovation Award in the category ‘Responsible and Renewable Innovations’. The award was received on February 8th at the annual prize ceremony in Bilbao, Spain. The competition was created in 2007 by Excellence Finland, a national non-profit organization dedicated to performance improvement to encourage the creation and development of innovations in products, processes and organizations.
EcoFishBox is designed for packing fresh and processed food products in shops and restaurants. Designed in-house by Stora Enso, the box is waterproof and leakproof to the liner, thanks to its pre-made PET lamination and special folding method. The fibre-based box is supplied as a flat corrugated board for space saving. The material is completely recyclable and reduces packaging waste handling.
