DS Smith has said that it plans to install a new containerboard machine – PM 3 – replacing PM 1. It is estimated that the new machine will increase the mills production capacity to over 700,000 tpy. The project is expected to cost around €160m and the new machine will add new lightweight grades to its range. Adding PM 3 will have a net production uplift of 476,000 tpy and will produce Testliner and fluting in a range of 70-135 gsm.
