Thimm wins the EcoVadis award

Thimm has once again been recognised by EcoVadis in its Corporate Social Responsibility Rating. The packaging producer achieved a silver medal placing it in the top 18 percent of companies assessed from the same sector.

The EcoVadis assessment focuses on 21 criteria which are subdivided into the four overarching themes of environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. In all four areas Thimm scored above the sector average and for this performance has been awarded the silver medal.

In particular thanks to the reduction in energy use, the offer of environmentally-friendly materials and the recycling program for the printing inks used were persuasive factors for the environmental criteria. The transparent reporting, the measures undertaken to promote employee health and safety and the Code of Conduct for suppliers were also positively reflected in the results. Thimm is happy with being assessed as above average. “Corporate responsibility forms the basis of all our corporate actions into which we combine the concept of responsible, future-oriented corporate management” says Michael Weber, Head of Corporate Marketing. “We are currently further developing our existing sustainability strategy. This award shows we are on the right path.”
