On Monday 23rd September, UK-based CBS Packaging Group started up their new 300m/min 2.5m double wall corrugator from BHS Corrugated. This new corrugator was installed at the 160,000 sq ft head office and integrated corrugated plant based in Birmingham.
Managing Director, Jitha Singh, commented, “The successful start-up of this new corrugator marks the next phase in the exciting development and growth of our family business. My brothers and I, together with our team here, have been on quite a journey over the years and are delighted to have been able to replace our previous BHS Corrugated line, which was second hand when we bought it nine years ago. The new corrugator is the first Value Line from BHS Corrugated installed in Western Europe. The machine will add new flute profiles and combinations to our market offering whilst significantly increasing productivity potential , quality and efficiency across our business. The improvements seen in board quality have resulted in an uplift in our converting output, customers have reacted very positively and we are already seeing significant reductions in waste compared to our previous machine.”
