McKinley ready to get underway

It has been reported that McKinley Paper Co (a subsidiary of the Mexican group, Biopappel) has applied for permits to install $600,000 of new equipment at the Ediz Hook site, in Port Angeles, Washington State, USA. The company confirmed plans in September to re-open the former Nippon Paper Industries USA paper mill that it acquired in March 2017. It is believed that the mill might open later this year or early 2020.

The mill is being converted to run recycled containerboard; it had previously produced newsprint and lightweight papers for printing of telephone directories.
