Local charity boxes

Rigid Containers has helped deliver Christmas to vulnerable families and children in Kettering, by donating 500 boxes to local charity ‘The Mini Xmas Toy Recycling Project’.

The group, set up by Lacinda Anne Allen, operates a toy recycling scheme in which anyone can donate unwanted but still useable toys and gifts. They’re then packaged and donated to local families in need during the Christmas period. This year, to help with the packing and distribution of the toys, Rigid has supplied 500 large, printed boxes to the charity to keep the goods safe and sound.

Rigid’s Group Managing Director, David Richardson, said, “With so much going on over the Christmas period it’s important to remember some of the most vulnerable in society. The Mini Xmas Toy Recycling Project does such a great job for the local area in helping spread the joy of Christmas. We are delighted to support Lacinda and the team by helping in this small way and hopefully make everyone’s job a little bit easier.”

Currently in its second year, the project welcomes struggling families to visit its centre, where a team of volunteers will help pick out a main present as well as a box of smaller toys and gifts, based on the child’s likes and interests. The charity also runs a separate summer scheme called “Book me a trip to the beach”, a project that takes those who are suffering life-changing illnesses away for the day during the summer.
