2018 Quality First Conference

The Recycling Association has announced that its 2018 Quality First Conference will take place on Tuesday 17th April at Ashursts Solicitors’ Conference Centre in London. Advance tickets have been available to Association members for a week, but are now opened to non-members.

Keynote speakers will include Mary Creagh MP, chair of The Environmental Audit Committee and Richard Parker, Head of Sustainable Packaging at nationwide frozen foods retailer Iceland which has recently committed to reducing own brand plastic packaging.

The Environmental Audit Committee is a leading voice in the debate on the impacts of National Sword and circular packaging design and is instrumental in challenging the Government’s commitment to sustainable recycling.

Other speakers include The Recycling Association chief executive Simon Ellin, with an update on the Quality First campaign and an insight into how China has changed the debate and its effects to date, both by members and material users worldwide.

With retailers taking new measures to decrease plastic packaging, the conference will host a panel discussion on the role of packaging design and retail influence on future recyclability. A second panel debate will cover the business impacts of and responses to the China ban at shop floor and local authority levels.

Early booking is recommended as 50 per cent of tickets were allocated when the tickets were made available to members on 2nd March. Non-member tickets cost £99 and can be booked here: http://www.rebnews.com/qf2018/
